The following steps can be used to add an occupant to a violation record when the customer does not utilize our building and suite, property record process. This method will allow the user to identify an occupant related to the violation case record and print letters and notices to that occupant without having to create individual buildings and suites (apartments or similar) for each parcel record.
Instructions
- Navigate to Code Enforcement, Violations, and select List
- Search for and select a Violation Case Record
- Under the Violation tab, scroll down to the Building/Suite ID field
- Click in the field but do not enter any data
- Scroll down to the Occupant Information. The name and address field will not be open to editing. Insert the Name and mailing Address of the occupant.
Note: For the mailing address, ensure the format is: Street number Street name, City, State zip. Example: 1 Main Street, St. Joseph, MO 00001. The email and phone are not required. - Scroll down and click the Save Violation button to save the record
- For printing any letter or notice, in the printer dialog window, the occupant entered will be available under the Select Addressee drop-down list
