Zoning Permits are managed in a separate area of the Permitting System. It allows for the creation of specific zoning permit numbers and the utilization of zoning permit types and uses. Providing this type of interface allows the user to create detailed zoning permits when required and link those zoning permits to specific permits and projects where zoning permits are required.
All fields and tabs in the zoning permit component are identical to the regular permit processes. The only difference is when a zoning permit application is approved the system will create a zoning permit number with a Z as a prefix.
Add a Zoning Permit
Navigate to Permitting System > Add Zoning Permit
- Follow the instructions in the Create & Manage Permits article to fill out the permit application
Link a Zoning Permit to a Project / Permit Record
Once a zoning permit is created and approved, a user can link the zoning permit to regular permits.
- Navigate to Permitting System > List and select a record
- Click Edit
- On the Applicant tab, scroll down to the Zone Permit field and select the appropriate zoning permit from the drop-down
Note: If a zoning permit is only an application and has not been approved and issued a zoning permit number, it will not appear in the drop-down list within a permit record. This prevents users from associating zoning permit applications with other permits or projects where those permits or projects could be approved based on the existence of a zoning permit. If that zoning permit application is denied then those permit/project applications may be approved based on bad data in which the zoning permit was denied.
